Four Seasons A/C Receiver Drier P/N:83277
Keep moisture and debris from circulating through your A/C system with the Four Seasons A/C Receiver Drier / Filter Drier 83721. This steel filter drier is a direct-fit replacement for the listed applications, including the 1994-1999 Chevrolet P30, 1994-1996 Chevrolet P60 and P6000, 1994-1996 GMC HD P6000, P6000 and P6500, 1996-1999 GMC P3500, and the 1996 GMC P6S042 Series Van — see the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list and engine details.
The filter drier acts as a filter, removing moisture and contaminants from the air conditioning system — impurities that flushing alone can't clear, which is why the drier is replaced during service. A desiccant bag inside handles moisture absorption; if the system runs open or leaks, that bag can saturate within hours and leave the drier ineffective.
As a best practice, the receiver drier should be replaced any time the A/C system is opened for service, and doing so is typically required to validate a compressor warranty.
