It is cataloged for the front right (passenger-side) position and clamps the brake pads against the rotor to convert hydraulic pressure into stopping force. A sticky, leaking, or seized original caliper can cause a soft pedal, uneven pad wear, or brake drag — if the caliper is the cause, this assembly replaces it.
