Firm up the rear ride and restore factory control with the KYB Gas-a-just Shock Absorber 553389, a high-pressure monotube gas shock that drops in as an OE monotube replacement for the rear position on the 2013-2018 Ford C-MAX and 2010-2013 Mazda 3. This KYB shock absorber uses two separate working chambers — an air-free hydraulic piston and valve area for responsiveness and control, plus a high-pressure nitrogen gas area with a floating piston for a comfortable ride during normal driving and instant performance on demand.

High-pressure monotube design: separates the gas and oil for fade-free operation and instant response.
Triple chrome-plated piston rod: since fluid leaking can be a cause of shock failure, the ultra-smooth rod is designed to reduce seal wear.
Quick response: the higher gas pressure responds quickly to help improve steering response and helps restore the designed control and handling of the Mazda 3.
Safety-system minded: helps keep Electronic Safety Systems performing as designed, since they depend on suspension, brakes and tires working as intended.
