Dial in your own ride control with the KYB AGX Suspension Strut 741016, a manually-adjustable rear damper that fits the 1990-1997 Mazda Miata. It lets you design your own performance without special tools, quickly and as often as you like — one simple adjustment increases both rebound and compression damping.

  • Adjustable damping: can be adjusted to add up to 125% more damping force than the vehicle's OEM design on your Mazda Miata; depending on application, it uses either an eight-position knob or a four-position screwdriver slot, both offering the same capability.
  • Adjust in place: externally adjustable without lifting the vehicle or removing the tires.
  • Velocity-sensitive valving: precision multi-stage hydraulic valves react to driving conditions to help maintain tire contact and vehicle control, on the street or the track.
  • Built to last: a seamless working cylinder matched with a Teflon-coated piston band for a positive seal and longer life.

Engineered to help vehicles with electronic safety systems (ESC, ABS, etc.). To reduce the chance of noise and vibration, KYB recommends installing new strut mounts (part number SM5077), and you can protect the struts from dirt, debris and salt with a KYB Strut Boot (part number SB108).

Frequently Asked Questions

What vehicle does this KYB AGX strut fit?

It fits the 1990-1997 Mazda Miata. See the Buyer's Guide tab to confirm the exact application for your vehicle.

Is this a front or rear strut?

This is a rear suspension strut. Struts install as left/right pairs, so consider ordering two for a matched rear replacement.

How does the adjustable damping work?

Depending on application, it has an eight-position knob or a four-position screwdriver slot. One adjustment changes both rebound and compression, adding up to 125% more damping force than the OEM design.

Do I need special tools to adjust it?

No. The AGX is externally adjustable without lifting the vehicle or removing the tires, so you can change settings quickly and as often as you want.

Should I replace any other parts at the same time?

KYB recommends new strut mounts (part number SM5077) to reduce noise and vibration, and a KYB Strut Boot (part number SB108) to protect the struts from dirt, debris and salt.
