LuK Clutch Flywheel P/N:LFW386
LuK LFW282 clutch flywheel for the 1993-1997 Chevrolet Camaro V8 5.7L and other vehicles bolts to the crankshaft and gives the clutch a flat friction surface to press against. This is a new rigid flywheel, and the flywheel and its ring gear are engineered and manufactured to OE specifications.
Chatter or vibration when the clutch engages, or a clutch that slips, can mean the flywheel face is worn or scored, though a worn clutch disc or pressure plate can be behind the same signs.
It is a direct-fit replacement for the 1993-1997 Chevrolet Camaro V8 5.7L and the 1993-1997 Pontiac Firebird V8 5.7L.

Does the LuK LFW282 flywheel fit a 1993-1997 Pontiac Firebird V8 5.7L?
Yes. LuK LFW282 fits the 1993-1997 Pontiac Firebird V8 5.7L as well as the 1993-1997 Chevrolet Camaro V8 5.7L, and each takes one flywheel.
How many teeth does the ring gear on this rigid flywheel have?
The ring gear has 153 teeth and is 11.2 mm thick. The LuK LFW282 friction surface measures 280.5 mm across on its outer diameter.
Does the LuK LFW282 come with dowel pins?
No. This flywheel is listed without dowel pins.
Can a scored flywheel surface cause clutch chatter or vibration?
Yes, it can. A worn or scored friction surface can contribute to chatter or vibration on takeoff, and a shop can inspect the surface while the clutch is out.
Is a new rigid flywheel a real alternative to resurfacing?
Yes. LuK LFW282 gives a new, flat friction surface, so the old flywheel does not need to be resurfaced. It is also dynamically balanced to eliminate vibration.
