MSD Distributor P/N:83775
MSD 85824 distributor for the 1975-1985 Ford F-150 V8 5.0L and other vehicles is a low-profile crab cap MSD Ignition distributor. Spark plug wires exit the side of the cap, which keeps the overall height down where a blower or air cleaner leaves little room.
A distributor routes the spark to each plug wire, so a worn one can show up as hard starting, a misfire or a rough idle. None of these signs proves the distributor is at fault; a fouled spark plug is another common source.
The 1975-1985 Ford F-150 V8 5.0L, the 1964-1968 Ford Mustang V8 4.7L, the 1968-1973 Mustang V8 5.0L and the 1980-1985 Ford F-250 V8 5.0L are all fit by this distributor, and so are many other Ford, Mercury and Lincoln models.
