NTK Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor P/N:EF0095
NTK EF0089 coolant temperature sensor for the 2002 Toyota Camry 4-cylinder 2.4L and other vehicles sends the ECM an analog signal that reports engine coolant temperature. The ECM uses that signal to keep the proper air/fuel ratio and to run the cooling fan(s) and temperature gauge.
A worn engine coolant temperature sensor can show up as a check engine light, an erratic or dead temperature gauge, or erratic cooling fan operation. Those signs can have other causes, so with the engine off and cool, look over the connector, the wiring and the area around the sensor for damage or seepage before you replace it.
It is a coolant temperature sensor for the 1999-2007 Subaru Forester, and the vehicles it fits also include the 2000-2004 Subaru Outback. Wires and probe length match OE.
One coolant temperature sensor. Every car named above takes a single sensor.
This part cross-references / interchanges with the following part numbers:
Is this the right ect sensor for a 2002 Toyota Camry 4-cylinder 2.4L?
Yes. NTK EF0089 is listed for the 2002 Toyota Camry 4-cylinder 2.4L, which takes one sensor. If your car is a different model, look up its year and engine in the "Vehicles it fits" section.
Is this the Subaru Outback coolant temperature sensor for the 2000-2004 model years?
Yes. NTK EF0089 is listed for the 2000-2004 Subaru Outback, including the H4-2.5L and H6-3.0L engines in 2001-2004.
Does this coolant temperature sensor come with mounting clips?
Mounting clip(s) are included where applicable, and thread sealant or an o-ring is installed where applicable.
Can a coolant temperature sensor cause the cooling fan to act erratically?
Yes, it can be one cause, since the ECM uses this sensor's analog signal to run the cooling fan(s) and the temperature gauge. Engine overheating is another reason to replace the sensor.
Why does this NTK sensor have thermal conductive grease inside its brass housing?
The grease increases sensor response time and helps transfer temperature accurately to the thermistor.
