Pioneer offers its transmission repair kits in four levels: Overhaul, Banner, Master and Super Kit. Each is a premium pre-packaged option for a thorough transmission service. This Master Kit includes:
- Clutch pack parts: friction clutch plates and steel plates
- Gaskets: gaskets and a pan gasket
- Seals: seals, O-rings, rubber lip seals, metal clad seals and sealing rings
- Application-specific pieces: other components specific to the application
Jobs it's intended for: the kit targets two conditions. The first is heavy slipping caused by worn clutches or worn/damaged steel plates. The second is resealing a transmission that is leaking or has been taken apart. If worn clutches or steels are behind the slipping, this kit supplies replacement plates for the rebuild. Slipping can have other causes, so diagnose the transmission before you tear it down.
Signs a rebuild may be due: engine revs flare without a matching gain in road speed, gear engagement is delayed, or fluid leaks from seals or the pan.
