The shifter cable links the gear selector in the cabin to the automatic transmission. It transfers each movement of the lever so the transmission is placed in the range you select.
- Built to OE specs: Pioneer makes its cables to OE specifications as a high-quality replacement alternative.
- Steel inner cable: A durable steel core carries the shift motion from the selector to the transmission.
- Polymer outer housing: Surrounds the inner cable to help protect it from corrosion and abrasion.
- Hardware where applicable: Pioneer cables often come with common brackets, grommets and ends when the application calls for them.
A shifter cable may need replacing if the gear indicator no longer lines up with the selected gear, the shifter feels loose or binds, or the lever is hard to move into or out of park. Diagnose the cause before you replace anything, because linkage bushings, the shift interlock or the transmission itself can produce similar symptoms. If a stretched, frayed or broken cable is the cause, CA-1272 replaces it.
