The shifter cable is the mechanical link between the gear selector and the automatic transmission. It carries each movement of the selector to the transmission so that the transmission is placed in the range you choose. Pioneer offers this cable as a high-quality replacement alternative:

- Steel inner cable: a durable steel core carries the shift motion.
- Polymer outer housing: surrounds the inner cable to help protect it from corrosion and abrasion.
A shifter cable may need replacing if the selector feels loose or disconnected, if the gear indicator does not match the gear the transmission is actually in, or if the selector is hard to move into or out of Park.
