Dial in the ride you want with the Rancho RS9000XL RS994118 Shock Absorber, a nine-position adjustable shock for trucks, SUVs and Jeeps that tow, haul or head off road. It fits many vehicles, among them the 1980-1996 Ford F-150, 1987-1995 Jeep Wrangler and 1966-1977 Ford F-250. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list. Depending on the application, it is cataloged for the front, rear or front inner position.

The RS9000XL is now in its fourth generation. An easy-to-adjust knob sets damping and firmness for both on-road and off-road use. Integrated bottom mounts add strength, and a dual component 2K paint finish is designed to resist chips.

  • Nine levels of adjustment: the nine-position knob lets you tailor damping control and firmness on stock or lifted vehicles.
  • Designed to reduce fade: nitrogen gas pressurized to 45 or 60 PSI is intended to limit air-to-oil mixing, helping reduce damping fade and foaming.
  • Built for temperature swings: the tri-tube body measures up to 2.38 in. depending on the application. It is filled with all-weather fluid for cooler operation and is designed to withstand internal temperatures of -40 to 248°F.
  • Smooth-ride components: a polyurethane rebound bumper and bushings work with a graphite-filled fluon-banded piston to help absorb ride harshness and respond to changing road conditions. A low-friction, self-lubricating seal retains gas and oil for quicker rebound and smoother compression, and a premium liquid metallic finish and polyvinyl protective boot help protect the shock.

If you are replacing a worn suspension shock absorber or looking for a 1966-1977 Ford F-250 shock absorber with adjustable damping, the RS994118 is backed by Rancho's Limited Lifetime Warranty.
