SHOCK ABSORBER KIT

Soak up the trail and keep your lifted Jeep composed on the highway with the TeraFlex 9550 VSS Twin-Tube Shock Kit (MPN 1545200). TeraFlex 9550 VSS (Vehicle Specific Shocks) Twin-Tube Shocks are engineered, valved, and tuned for extreme off-road performance while retaining a smooth on-road ride, making this kit a direct upgrade for the JK Wrangler/Unlimited running a 3-4" lift. A proprietary in-house velocity valve is tuned to react in sync with TeraFlex suspension systems and lift kits.

  • Twin-tube design: provides longer stroke travel than monotube shocks, with an internal travel limiter that minimizes the impact of over-compression.
  • Induction-hardened, triple-chrome plated rod: adds strength, paired with an oil block and seal that keep internal fluids contained.
  • Large-diameter piston: helps lower internal operating temperatures during hardcore off-road use.
  • Durable black e-dipped finish: resists salt and other corrosives, over an HD shock canister and double-welded shock eyelets for added protection.

Includes premium-quality rubber bushings and Jeep-specific mounting (Front: stem/eyelet; Rear: bar pin/eyelet). Backed by a limited lifetime warranty. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list of applications and engine details.

Frequently Asked Questions

What vehicles does this shock kit fit?

It is designed specifically for the JK Wrangler/Unlimited set up with a 3-4" lift. Check the Buyer's Guide tab to confirm the fit for your Jeep.

How does the twin-tube design help off-road?

The twin-tube design provides longer stroke travel than monotube shocks, and the outer tube protects the inner tube so a dent in the outer tube won't affect the shock's function.

What does the velocity valve do?

TeraFlex's proprietary in-house velocity valve is tuned to react in sync with TeraFlex suspension systems and lift kits for controlled damping on and off the trail.

What mounting style do these shocks use?

They use JK-specific mounting: stem/eyelet at the front and bar pin/eyelet at the rear, with premium-quality rubber bushings.

Are these shocks protected against corrosion?

Yes. A durable black e-dipped finish resists salt and other corrosives, and the HD shock canister provides strong protection from damage.
