Standard Ignition Distributor Cap P/N:DU-423

Keep spark reaching every cylinder in firing order with the Standard Ignition Distributor Cap DU-423. It installs as a direct-fit replacement for the 1985-1987 Renault Alliance and the 1985-1986 Renault Encore, dropping onto the distributor in place of a worn or damaged original.

A distributor cap covers the top of the distributor and carries high-voltage current from the ignition system to each spark plug. As the rotor turns beneath it, the cap's internal terminals pass that current out through the plug wires in the correct firing order, while the cap body shields the internal components from dust and moisture.

• Spark routing: Directs high-voltage current from the rotor to the individual plug-wire terminals for each cylinder.
• Protective cover: Encloses the distributor to help keep contaminants away from the internal ignition parts.
• Signs it may need replacing: Cracks, carbon tracking, or corroded terminals that can show up as engine misfire, hard starting, or rough running.
