Standard Ignition Distributor Rotor P/N:JR-166
Help route high-voltage spark to each cylinder in turn with the Standard Ignition Distributor Rotor JR-103. It is a direct-fit replacement for the listed applications and fits many vehicles, including the 1990-1994 Hyundai Excel, the 1987-1991 Dodge Colt and the 1990-1996 Mitsubishi Mighty Max. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list of applications and engine details.
The rotor mounts on the distributor shaft and spins beneath the distributor cap. It carries ignition coil voltage from the cap's center terminal across its segment to each spark plug terminal in turn.
Signs a distributor rotor may need replacing: engine misfires, hard starting, rough running or hesitation, or a rotor tip that shows burning, erosion or carbon tracking. These symptoms can have other causes, so diagnose the ignition system before you replace parts.

This part cross-references / interchanges with the following part numbers:
What does a distributor rotor do?
It turns with the distributor shaft and passes high-voltage current from the ignition coil, through the distributor cap, to each spark plug terminal in turn.
What vehicles does the Standard JR-103 fit?
It is listed for many vehicles, including the 1987-1991 Dodge Colt, the 1990-1994 Hyundai Excel and the 1990-1996 Mitsubishi Mighty Max. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list.
What is the JR-103 rotor segment made of?
It uses a solid brass segment that resists pitting and erosion. A noise-suppressing coating on the segment helps prevent interference with the radio and other electronics.
How does the JR-103 stay in place on the distributor shaft?
It uses shaft retention clips to hold a proper fit on the distributor shaft.
How can I tell if my distributor rotor is bad?
Misfires, hard starting, rough running, or a burned or eroded rotor tip can be signs of a bad rotor. These symptoms have other possible causes, so diagnose the ignition system first.
