Standard Ignition Distributor Rotor P/N:JR-79
Send high-voltage spark from the coil to each spark plug in the correct firing order with the Standard Ignition Distributor Rotor JR-118. It is a direct-fit replacement for the 1986-1987 Acura Legend and the 1987-1988 Sterling 825. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for engine details.
The rotor turns with the distributor shaft. It passes voltage from the cap's center terminal to each outer terminal in sequence. A worn, burned or carbon-tracked rotor can weaken or misdirect that spark. If the rotor is the cause of your ignition trouble, this part replaces it.
Standard Ignition draws on decades of research and development in distributor caps and rotors.

What does a distributor rotor do?
It turns with the distributor shaft and passes high voltage from the cap's center terminal to each outer terminal in turn. This sends spark to the plugs in firing order.
Which vehicles does the JR-118 fit?
It is listed for the 1986-1987 Acura Legend and the 1987-1988 Sterling 825. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for engine details.
What are signs a distributor rotor may need replacing?
Possible signs include misfires, hard starting, rough running or a no-start, plus a burned tip or carbon tracking on inspection. Other ignition parts can cause the same symptoms, so diagnose first.
Why does this rotor use brass segments and alkyd?
Solid brass segments give better conductivity for higher-voltage spark. The dielectric-strength alkyd resists dirt buildup, which helps reduce carbon tracking.
Which part numbers does the JR-118 interchange with?
It cross-references 12-0159 (120159), 30103PH7006, D641, JA989, RTRA122, EP776 and 86386350025.
