Keep spark voltage reaching each cylinder in turn with the Standard Distributor Rotor JR-121. It is a direct-fit replacement for many vehicles, among them the 1998-2000 Chevrolet Metro, 1989-1992 Chevrolet Sprint and 1994-2000 Pontiac Firefly. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list and engine details.

The rotor rides on the distributor shaft and spins inside the distributor cap. As it turns, it carries high-voltage current from the ignition coil to each cap terminal in firing order.

  • Engineering polymer body: a high dielectric-strength material designed to resist electrical breakdown and arcing.
  • Noise-suppressing segment coating: applied to the segment to help keep electrical interference away from the radio and other electronic circuits.
  • Solid brass segment: resists pitting and erosion.
  • Shaft retention clips: hold the rotor properly on the distributor shaft.

Signs this part may need replacing: misfires, hard starting or a no-start, and rough running can all come from a worn rotor. A rotor with a burned or eroded tip, cracks, or carbon tracking may also need replacing. Diagnose the ignition system first. If the rotor is the cause, the JR-121 replaces it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a distributor rotor do?

It turns with the distributor shaft and carries high-voltage current from the ignition coil to each distributor cap terminal, so spark reaches each cylinder in turn.

Which vehicles does the Standard JR-121 fit?

It fits many vehicles, among them the 1998-2000 Chevrolet Metro, 1989-1992 Chevrolet Sprint and 1994-2000 Pontiac Firefly. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list and engine details.

What is the rotor's segment made of?

It uses a solid brass segment that resists pitting and erosion. The segment has a noise-suppressing coating that helps keep electrical interference away from the radio and other electronics.

What are signs a distributor rotor may need replacing?

Signs include misfires, hard starting, rough running, and a rotor with a burned tip, cracks, or carbon tracking. Diagnose the ignition system to confirm the cause before replacing parts.

What part numbers does the JR-121 interchange with?

It cross-references D682, DR907, EP855, 12353023, 96061556, EP855SB, 3911, 3331060B50, and JR121T.
