The rotor turns with the distributor shaft beneath the cap and passes coil voltage to each spark plug terminal in sequence. Signs that a distributor rotor may need replacing include engine misfire, hard starting, rough running, and a rotor tip that is burned, worn or cracked. If a worn rotor is the cause, MA-307 replaces it. Inspect the distributor cap at the same time.
