Standard Ignition Neutral Safety Switch P/N:NS-116
Standard Motor Products
Standard Ignition NS-142 neutral safety switch for the 1994-2001 Toyota Camry and other vehicles allows the engine to start only with the transmission in Park or Neutral. It closes the starter circuit only in those gear positions.
A worn neutral safety switch can show up as an engine that will not crank in Park or Neutral, or as a starter that engages in other gears. If the switch is the cause, this one replaces it. With the engine off, look over the connector and wiring at the switch for corrosion, damage or looseness first, because a poor connection can act the same way. A shop can test the switch itself.
This is a direct-fit neutral safety switch for the 1994-2001 Toyota Camry, the 1999-2001 Toyota Solara and the 1993-1997 Toyota Celica. The listing is a single switch, and one is all any of those cars takes.
