Standard Ignition Voltage Regulator P/N:VR-588
Standard Ignition VR-106 voltage regulator for the 1967 Dodge Charger V8 4.5L, the 1967-1968 Charger V8 5.2L, 6.3L, 7.0L or 7.2L, the 1968 Charger 6-cylinder 3.7L and other vehicles regulates the voltage in the charging system. It helps keep the battery and the electrical system supplied at a steady level while the engine runs.
A battery that keeps going flat, lights that dim or flicker, or a charging warning light can mean the regulator is failing. Before replacing it, look over the battery terminals, ground connections and the two blade terminals with the engine off, because corrosion or a loose connection at any of them can produce similar symptoms. If the regulator is the cause, this one replaces it.
This voltage regulator also fits the 1967-1968 Chrysler Town & Country V8 6.3L or 7.2L and the 1967 Chrysler 300 V8 7.2L, and only one regulator is needed per car. If your car is not named here, find its year and engine in the "Vehicles it fits" section.
Fit and size
Build and materials
One voltage regulator and an instruction sheet. Mounting hardware and a mounting bracket are not included, so plan on new hardware.
Is this the right voltage regulator for a 1967 Chrysler 300 V8 7.2L?
Yes. The Standard Ignition VR-106 fits the 1967 Chrysler 300 V8 7.2L, and that car takes one regulator.
Does the Standard Ignition VR-106 come with a mounting bracket or hardware?
No. The Standard Ignition VR-106 comes with an instruction sheet only; mounting hardware and a mounting bracket are not included.
What kind of terminals does this voltage regulator have?
It has two male blade terminals and no connector. It is built for a 12-volt, negative-ground system.
Can a worn voltage regulator make the lights dim or flicker?
It can, if the regulator is the cause. A battery that keeps going flat or a charging warning light are other signs, and a shop can test the charging system while the engine is running.
How does the VR-106 resist vibration and corrosion?
The electronic PC board in this regulator is encapsulated in epoxy, which is intended to resist failure caused by vibration and corrosion of electrical connections.
