TERREPOWER formerly BBB Industries Rack and Pinion Assembly P/N:101-0140
TERREPOWER 313-0140 rack and pinion for the 1990-1999 Subaru Legacy and other vehicles turns the steering wheel's rotation into the sideways motion that steers the wheels. This is a remanufactured hydraulic power steering unit that comes with its inner tie rods.
Loose or heavy steering, fluid at the ends of the rack, or noise when turning can point to a worn rack. Before you replace the rack, rule out worn outer tie rods and a leaking pressure or return hose, since those can bring play or fluid loss of their own.
This rack and pinion fits the 1990-1999 Subaru Legacy and the 1993-1997 Subaru Impreza.

Is this rack and pinion for the 1993-1997 Subaru Impreza?
Yes. TERREPOWER 313-0140 fits the 1993-1997 Subaru Impreza, and it also fits the 1990-1999 Subaru Legacy.
Does the TERREPOWER 313-0140 come with tie rods?
This rack and pinion includes the inner tie rods. Outer tie rods and bushings are not included, so they are bought separately if yours need replacing.
What thread sizes do the ports on this hydraulic rack use?
The pressure port is M14X1.50 and the return port is M16X1.50, so the hose fittings need to match those threads.
Is a rack and pinion assembly the same as TERREPOWER 313-0140?
Yes. Both names describe the same part; TERREPOWER 313-0140 is a remanufactured hydraulic unit with inner tie rods included.
How can I tell if my steering rack is leaking or worn?
With the engine off and cool, look for fluid around the ends of the rack. Loose or heavy steering and noise when turning are other signs, and a shop can test the rack to confirm.
