Power Steering Filter for 2005-2007 Sterling Truck L8500 & More - Wix 57196

Help keep debris out of the steering system on your heavy truck or bus with the Wix hydraulic filter 57196, a WIX power steering cartridge filter. It is a direct-fit replacement for many vehicles, among them the 1997-1998 Ford A9513, 2001-2007 Freightliner Condor and 2003-2006 Sterling Truck L9500. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for the full list and engine details.

• Application-specific media: WIX HD power steering filters use premium media chosen for each application. Depending on the application, that media is wire-backed synthetic, enhanced cellulose or wire mesh.
• Construction: Built with high-strength, corrosion-resistant materials, center tubes and end caps.
• Sealing: Uses sealing components designed to resist leaks across a range of operating conditions.
• Service intervals: WIX recommends these filters for OEM power steering filter change intervals.

A power steering filter catches particles circulating in the hydraulic fluid, so the media holds them instead of letting them recirculate through the system. As the media loads with debris, flow through it can become restricted, which is why the filter is replaced on a schedule. Signs it may be due include reaching the service interval, visibly contaminated fluid, or pump whine. Noise can have other causes, so inspect the steering system before you replace parts.
