Firm up front-end control and keep damping fade-free with the KYB Gas-a-just Monotube Shock Absorber KG5409, a high-pressure gas front shock built for classic GM trucks, vans and SUVs. • High-pressure monotube design: separates the gas and oil into distinct chambers for fade-free operation and instant response.
• Air-free hydraulic action: a nitrogen-charged floating piston keeps the valving aerated-free, so it does not fade during hard use.
• Up to 25% more damping: adds up to 25% more damping performance over original-equipment shocks, with components and valving designed specifically for GM trucks that work, tow, and run larger, heavier tires and wheels.
• Triple chrome-plated piston rod: an ultra-smooth rod helps reduce seal wear, since fluid leaking can be a cause of shock failure.

The higher gas pressure helps improve steering response and, per KYB, helps keep Electronic Safety Systems performing as the vehicle manufacturer designed. Sold individually; replace shocks as an axle pair for balanced ride control.
