Fire every cylinder with confidence using the MSD Pro-Billet Small Diameter Distributor 8578, a compact billet-housing distributor engineered to be less obtrusive on Ford engines. Its cap and housing measure 5/8 in. smaller in diameter than a stock Ford distributor, freeing up extra room in front of the engine. It's a direct-fit application for a wide range of classic Fords, including the 1981-1996 Ford Bronco, 1975-1996 Ford E-150 Econoline, 1981-1996 Ford F-150, 1981-1997 Ford F-350, 1995 Ford Mustang and many more — see the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list.

  • Must be used with an MSD Ignition Control: designed to work with MSD 6/7/8/10 Series ignitions.
  • Small-diameter cap: supplied with a small-diameter cap featuring HEI-style terminals, plus race and rotor; will accept PN 8441 Cap-A-Dapt.
  • Adjustable mechanical advance: the advance plate and weights are fine-blanked from chrome-moly steel, QPQ coated for friction reduction, with nylon pads for smooth weight operation; the assembly can be locked out for crank-trigger systems.
  • High-rpm build: a QPQ-coated polished steel shaft rides in sealed ball bearings, driving a maintenance-free magnetic pickup and precision reluctor for stable trigger signals throughout the rpm range.

Includes cap, race and rotor. Iron gear. Red.
