Connect your accelerator pedal to the carburetor with a durable steel-core replacement, the Pioneer Carburetor Accelerator Cable CA-8312. It is a direct-fit replacement for the listed applications and fits many vehicles, among them the 1985-1987 Dodge Charger and 1987-1988 Dodge 600. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for the full vehicle list and engine details.
An accelerator cable carries pedal movement to the carburetor's throttle linkage. It opens the throttle as you press down and lets the throttle return when you release the pedal. Pioneer offers this cable as a high-quality replacement alternative:
- Built to OE specs: Pioneer manufactures its cables to original-equipment specifications.
- Steel inner cable: A durable steel core transmits the pull from the pedal to the throttle.
- Polymer outer housing: The housing protects the inner cable from corrosion and abrasion.
- Hardware where applicable: Pioneer notes that its cables often include common brackets, grommets and ends when the application calls for them.
Signs this part may need replacing: a throttle that sticks or binds, a stiff or uneven pedal, a slow return to idle, or a frayed or kinked cable. If a worn accelerator cable is the cause, this part replaces it. Diagnose the problem before replacing parts.
