Standard Ignition Distributor Cap P/N:AL-490
Standard Motor Products
Keep high-voltage spark headed to the right cylinder with the Standard Ignition Distributor Cap AL-140. It is a direct-fit replacement for the listed applications, including the 1966-1971 Dodge Charger, plus many other classic American Motors, Chrysler, DeSoto, Dodge, Fargo, Plymouth and Studebaker models. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for the full list and engine details.
As a global manufacturer of original equipment ignition products, Standard Ignition maintains complete quality control from componentry to finished product. Its distributor caps and rotors draw on decades of research and development.
The distributor cap covers the top of the distributor. High voltage from the coil enters the cap, and the rotor passes it to each outer terminal and spark plug wire in firing order. Signs a cap may need replacing include cracks, carbon tracks, burned or corroded terminals, misfires, hard starting or rough running. Spark plugs, wires and the rotor can cause similar symptoms, so diagnose the cause before replacing parts.
