Distributor Cap for 1984-1986 Mercedes-Benz 190E - Standard Ignition GB-447

• Cap material: Standard Ignition makes its distributor caps from high dielectric strength, glass/mineral reinforced polyester resin. The material is intended to reduce carbon tracking and resist electrical breakdown.
• RFI resistors (where specified): Applications that call for them get resistors that help suppress radio static and potentially ECU-damaging voltage spikes.

The distributor cap receives high voltage from the ignition coil. Working with the rotor, it routes that voltage to each spark plug wire terminal in turn. Signs this part may need replacing include:

• cracks in the cap
• visible carbon tracks
• corroded or burned terminals
• misfires, rough running or hard starting

These symptoms can also have other causes, so diagnose the ignition system before replacing parts. If a worn cap is the cause, the GB-447 replaces it.
