Standard Ignition Distributor Rotor P/N:JR-139
Help carry high-voltage spark from the coil to each cylinder with the Standard Ignition Distributor Rotor JR-101. It is a direct-fit replacement for the listed applications, including the 1987-1995 Toyota Camry, 1988-1997 Toyota Corolla, 1989-1997 Geo Prizm and 1994-1998 Toyota T100. The rotor sits on the distributor shaft beneath the cap and turns with it, passing voltage from the cap's center terminal to each outer terminal in firing order.
Signs a rotor may need replacing include misfires, hard starting, rough running, or a burned, eroded or cracked rotor tip found during inspection. If a worn rotor is the cause, this unit replaces it. Diagnose the ignition system before replacing parts, and inspect the distributor cap at the same time.
Fitment:
See the Buyer's Guide tab for engine details for each application.
What does a distributor rotor do?
It turns with the distributor shaft and carries high voltage from the cap's center terminal to each outer terminal. This sends spark to the correct plug wire in firing order.
Which vehicles does the JR-101 fit?
It is listed for the 1985-1986 and 1989 Isuzu I-Mark, 1987-1995 Toyota Camry, 1988-1997 Toyota Corolla, 1989-1997 Geo Prizm and more. See the Buyer's Guide tab for the full list and engine details.
What is the rotor's contact segment made of?
The segment is solid brass, which resists pitting and erosion. It also carries a noise-suppressing coating that helps prevent interference with the radio and other electronic circuits.
What are signs of a worn distributor rotor?
Misfires, hard starting, rough running, or a burned, eroded or cracked rotor tip may mean the rotor needs replacing. Diagnose the ignition system first, because these symptoms can have other causes.
Should I replace the distributor cap at the same time?
Many technicians service the cap and rotor together because both wear in use. When you install this rotor, inspect your cap for cracks, carbon tracking or worn terminals.
