Send coil voltage to each spark plug in firing order with the Standard Ignition Distributor Rotor JR-168. The rotor turns with the distributor shaft and passes high voltage from the coil to each distributor cap terminal in turn, on its way to the plugs. It is a direct-fit replacement for many vehicles, among them the 1996-1997 Nissan Sentra, 1995-1998 Nissan 200SX and 1995-1996 Nissan 240SX. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for the full list and engine details.

    • Quality control: Standard Ignition is a global manufacturer of original equipment ignition products and maintains complete quality control throughout manufacturing, from componentry to finished product.
    • Dielectric alkyd: High-grade dielectric strength alkyd resists dirt sticking, which decreases carbon tracking for extended service life.
    • Solid brass segments: Designed for better conductivity and higher voltage spark to the plugs.
    • Shaft retention clip: Where an application requires one, Standard Ignition uses a shaft retention clip for proper fit and performance.

Signs a distributor rotor may need replacing include misfires, hard starting, rough running, or a rotor that shows burning, cracks or carbon tracking. Plugs, wires, the cap or the coil can cause similar symptoms, so diagnose the cause first. If a worn rotor is the cause, this unit replaces it. It is good practice to inspect the distributor cap during the same job.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What does a distributor rotor do?

It turns with the distributor shaft and passes high voltage from the coil to each distributor cap terminal in firing order. From there the voltage travels to the spark plugs.

Which vehicles does the Standard Ignition JR-168 fit?

It fits many vehicles, among them the 1996-1997 Nissan Sentra, 1995-1998 Nissan 200SX and 1995-1996 Nissan 240SX. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for the full list and engine details.

What materials does Standard Ignition use in this rotor?

Standard Ignition uses a high-grade dielectric strength alkyd that resists dirt sticking, which decreases carbon tracking. The rotor also has solid brass segments for better conductivity.

What are signs my distributor rotor may need replacing?

Signs include misfires, hard starting, rough running, or burning, cracks or carbon tracking on the rotor. Diagnose the cause first, because the plugs, wires, cap or coil can cause similar symptoms.
