Help deliver high-voltage spark to every cylinder in turn with the Standard Ignition Distributor Rotor JR-159. It is a direct-fit replacement for the 1993-1997 Ford Probe, 1994-1997 Mazda 626, and 1994-1997 Mazda MX-6. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for engine-specific fitment.

The rotor turns with the distributor shaft. It carries the ignition coil's high-voltage output to each terminal in the distributor cap, and from there through the spark plug wires to the plugs.

    • From an original equipment ignition maker: Standard Ignition is a global manufacturer of original equipment ignition products. It keeps full quality control over the manufacturing process, from individual components to the finished product, and its caps and rotors draw on decades of research and development.
    • High-grade, dielectric-strength alkyd: Resists dirt sticking to it, which reduces carbon tracking and is intended to extend service life.
    • Solid brass segments: Used for better conductivity and higher-voltage spark to the plugs.
    • Shaft retention clips where required: Fitted on applications that call for them to help the rotor fit and perform properly.

A distributor rotor may need replacing if you notice misfires, hard starting, or rough running, or if the rotor tip looks burned, eroded, or carbon-tracked on inspection. Diagnose the cause first. If a worn rotor is the problem, the JR-159 replaces it.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What vehicles does the Standard Ignition JR-159 fit?

It is listed for the 1993-1997 Ford Probe, 1994-1997 Mazda 626, and 1994-1997 Mazda MX-6. See the "Vehicles it fits" section for engine-specific fitment.

What does a distributor rotor do?

It turns with the distributor shaft and carries the coil's high-voltage output to each distributor cap terminal in turn, which sends spark through the plug wires to the cylinders.

What are the JR-159's segments made of?

The JR-159 uses solid brass segments. Standard Ignition specifies them for better conductivity and higher-voltage spark to the plugs.

How does the alkyd material help?

The high-grade, dielectric-strength alkyd resists dirt sticking to it. This reduces carbon tracking and is intended to extend service life.

What are signs my distributor rotor may need replacing?

Misfires, hard starting, rough running, or a burned or carbon-tracked rotor tip can be signs. Diagnose the cause first; if the rotor is at fault, the JR-159 replaces it.
