Standard Ignition Engine Oil Level Sensor P/N:FLS-82
Standard Ignition FLS-183 oil level sensor for the 2006-2011 BMW M6 V10 5.0L, the 2012 M6 V8 4.4L and other vehicles monitors the engine oil level and warns the driver when it gets low. It is also called an engine oil level sensor, and it takes the place of a damaged unit.
A low-oil light that comes on when the oil level is fine, or stays dark when it is low, can mean the sensor has failed. Those signs alone do not prove it, since a damaged connector could trigger the light as well.
This oil level sensor is a direct-fit replacement for damaged OE units on the 2006-2010 BMW M5 V10 5.0L, the 2006-2010 550i V8 4.8L and the 2011-2012 550i V8 4.4L. These cars take one sensor apiece.

Does Standard Ignition FLS-183 work as a BMW M5 oil level sensor on the 2006-2010 V10 5.0L?
Yes. Standard Ignition FLS-183 fits the 2006-2010 BMW M5 V10 5.0L. If your car is a different one, look up its years and engine in the Vehicles it fits section on this product page.
Does the FLS-183 come with anything besides the sensor?
No. The Standard Ignition FLS-183 listing contains the oil level sensor only.
How many terminals does the oil level sensor connector have?
The connector is an oval, plug-in female type with three male blade terminals. Standard Ignition FLS-183 has one connector.
What can it mean when the low-oil warning light comes on although the oil level looks fine?
It can be a sign that the level sensor's switch is failing. Have it diagnosed promptly rather than driving on, because low oil can damage the engine.
Is every Standard Ignition FLS-183 tested at the end of the production line?
Yes. Every unit goes through 100% end-of-line testing to meet or exceed OE performance.
