Mevotech designs its TTX line for high-usage passenger and commercial vehicles, SUVs, fleets and working trucks. It pairs the line with Labor Saver designs, tools and hardware meant to make installation faster and easier. This control arm and ball joint assembly links the steering knuckle to the chassis, letting the wheel travel up and down while holding it in position.
- Forged steel construction: upgraded to forged steel, with a structure change for increased durability.
- Sealed ball joint: a patented sealing ring locks the boot onto the ball joint housing to keep contaminants out. Patented sintered bearings and an application-specific ball stud system with a larger sphere are used inside.
- Stiffer bushings: the bushings are double bonded for increased stiffness and durability and are designed to help handling.
- Install-ready hardware: a part-specific slotted castle nut and an Easy Snap cotter pin secure the ball joint. A 180-degree SAE grease fitting is included for servicing.
Signs this part may need replacing include clunking or knocking over bumps, loose or wandering steering, uneven tire wear, and a torn ball joint boot or play in the joint. Diagnose the cause first. If a worn upper arm or ball joint is behind the problem, this assembly replaces both.
